And on your birthday, we even celebrate. Pikanini Chefs is a hands-on cooking and baking school for kids in Walmer, Port Elizabeth.
We set out to encourage children to expand their food horizons, introducing them to food and the many processes behind it.
At Pikanini Chefs the kitchen is for getting stuck in. The children measure, mix, knead, fry and decorate, learning real skills with their own two hands. Along the way they take on little challenges, taste things they have never tried, and make a few new friends. They leave with a treat to take home and the kind of pride that only comes from making something yourself.
No watching from the side. Every little chef rolls up their sleeves and does the real cooking and baking themselves.
We introduce new flavours and techniques in a way that feels like play, so children are proud to taste and try.
Challenges, giggles and new friendships are baked into every session, right alongside the cupcakes.
Some kids do not just want to bake. They want to sell. Bake Your Goal is our programme for the young baker with a goal in mind.
Find us at 104 Heugh Road in Walmer, between 4th and 5th Avenue, right next to Play World. Open weekdays, 9am to 4pm.
